Necessities for all Students:
for Robotics Project: wire cutters
for Robotics Project: small Phillips screwdriver
for Robotics Project: small flat head screwdriver
for Industrial Tours: closed-toed shoes
for Industrial Tours: long pants
for Beach trip: one watergun
for Beach trip: swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen

casual clothing
extra towels and soap (we provide one bath towel and one face towel)
quarters for coin-op laundry ($1.25 per load) and detergent
phone card for long distance calls or cell phone (see note below)
a calculator (scientific is fine; graphing optional)
rain gear

Optional:
camera
musical instruments (see note below)
spending money for snacks or the UVM bookstore
small fan (we are unable to provide fans this year)

For Students Arriving by Air:
Remember to pack your robotics equipment in your checked luggage - you will not be allowed to bring them in your carry-on.

About Cell Phones:
Students with cell phones are asked to use them at night and not during program hours. Please explain to your friends before you leave for Summer Program that you will not have time to receive calls during the day.

About Musical Instruments:
Please feel free to bring instruments to the Institute. We encourage students to share their talents at the Friday evening party. There are also pianos available in dorms and the music building on campus, which students may use during free time.
